A forum for colleagues from member institutions across the globe to connect, share expertise, and explore approaches to quality assurance and enhancement in an evolving international landscape.
Open to all QAA International Members, this network meets up to three times a year to discuss current priorities, hear updates on QAA’s international activity, and consider developments in global partnerships and quality frameworks.
Join with colleagues from across the global sector to share perspectives, exchange best practice, and stay informed of QAA’s international work. We look forward to seeing you.

Networking community chair

Dr Max Jaede
Dr Max Jaede is a Membership Quality Specialist, and chairs QAA’s International Insights and International Member networking communities. He is passionate about facilitating practice-sharing and collaborative learning among sector colleagues in the UK and internationally.
Max is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to joining QAA, he held teaching, research, and leadership roles at three Scottish universities. Most recently, he served as Head of Social Sciences and Director of Teaching at the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Open Learning, where he was closely involved in designing and delivering programmes for international students.

Workshop: Academic Integrity
In December 2023, this workshop provided a broad introductory overview of the topic of Academic Integrity, covering definitions and types, challenges and threats, and the impact of recent changes and developments in higher education on academic integrity. It also looked at managing academic misconduct in the context of generative AI. The presentation included an overview of QAA’s work in this area, and available resources, and some useful links to other QAA and external resources are included in the presentation.

Workshop: Artificial Intelligence
In January 2024, this workshop provided an introduction and overview of current developments in artificial intelligence (AI) including the use of Generative AI. This covered the potential threats of AI, including the impacts on academic integrity and assessment. It also looked at the potential opportunities presented by developments in AI, including the use of AI in learning, teaching and assessment and in upskilling staff and students. It concluded by looking at some of the work currently being done by QAA and the UK HE sector, and examples of resources available.

Workshop: Micro-credentials
In April 2024, our workshop on Micro-credentials covered an overview of what micro-credentials are, definitions, QAA’s current and previous work in this area (including the development of a Characteristics Statement), developments in the UK HE sector and also the work being done on micro-credentials internationally (including an ENQA project on which QAA represents the UK sector).
In addition to the presentation from the workshop there is a useful accompanying resources document which provides links to the various QAA and external resources that are referred to in the presentation.

International Membership networking community
This dedicated forum for International Members meets up to three times a year to hear about QAA’s international activities and consider latest developments in quality assurance and enhancement and partnership development.
International Collaborative Enhancement Project
This project offers International Members the opportunity to work together to explore shared interest and engage students with outputs that benefit the wider QAA membership and higher education sector. International Members can submit an application as a Project lead or to work with a UK university as a Project Partner. Applications open in October.
