About the Student Engagement Resource Hub
Evidence suggests that, since the COVID-19 pandemic and amid a cost-of-living crisis, students are engaging differently with a largely unchanged higher education model. Many believe that the sector has reached a pivotal moment in terms of approaches to student engagement and representation. This is likely to mean that more radical ideas will be required to reshape how students are engaged in their learning, quality assurance and enhancement, and student voice activities.
QAA Membership provides students, student representatives and sabbatical officers the opprunity to engage meaningfully in their provider’s quality processes. We offer a range of events and resources for student representatives and officers, students’ union staff members and those with a role in supporting student engagement.
This hub highlights resources, events and networks that are particularly relevant to student engagement, and spotlights key resources that are important for students – all linked to our Membership themes.
Our commitment to student engagement, representation and partnership working
QAA is committed to student engagement and partnership working, through our governance arrangements and as evidenced by the Principles of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education 2024. Students play an important role in all of our advisory groups and activities.
In 2024-25, students will be involved in all writing groups producing Advice and Guidance to underpin the 2024 Quality Code - not least Principle 2: Engaging students as partners - as well as representing the student body on groups which inform our work on areas including academic integrity, Subject Benchmark Statements and Characteristics Statements.
